ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Shiftworkers often face unique challenges to their health and wellbeing due to non-standard work hours. The Healthy Shiftwork project was created to deliver tailored, engaging information for young shiftworkers (aged 18–25) on sleep, nutrition, and physical activity—three key pillars of health that are often disrupted by shiftwork. While these resources were designed with young adults in mind, the advice is relevant to shiftworkers of all ages. The Healthy Shiftwork team hopes this information empowers shiftworkers to prioritise their health, no matter how demanding their schedule.

This project wouldn’t have been possible without the expertise and input of shiftworkers themselves, along with workplace health and safety experts, science communication specialists, and creatives, who all played a vital role in shaping the Healthy Shiftwork website and the resources it offers.
